World Financial Center (Brookfield Place)

The World Financial Center, a complex of four towers, is located across from the World Trade Center site in lower Manhattan, overlooking New York Harbor. The complex was built in the mid 1980s and today, is home to global corporations, including Merrill Lynch, American Express and Dow Jones.

Its grand centerpiece is the 10-story glass pavilion Winter Garden that boasts extensive public spaces, more than 40 retailers, restaurants, and specialty stores, and a stunning outdoor waterfront esplanade. The glass-enclosed Winter Garden is home to an innovative, year-round series of free performances, exhibitions and festivals created to showcase emerging as well as established artists.

In 2014, after extensive renovations, the center was given a new name – Brookfield Place.
