The Battery

Just like a giant power source, this area at the foot of Manhattan really does fuel the world. An architectural, cultural and social epicenter, The Battery is the site of the original Dutch settlement, New Amsterdam, and Wall Street, the birthplace of America's powerful financial system.

Here stands the World Trade Center, whose Freedom Tower and 9/11 Memorial serve as poignant reminders of love, sacrifice and renewal. Directly across the harbor stands the Statue of Liberty, America's great symbol of freedom and tolerance for all those who come to our shores.

Standing here, you can’t help but feel the electricity of the city pulsing in the air around you.
